BARNES, BURLINGAME posted by Beth Bourque on Tuesday, April 21, 1998
BARNES, Abigail M. and Nancy J. may have been sisters or aunt and niece. Abigail was born 1-9-1827 in Italy, New York. Nancy was listed on death certif. as born in NY state only. Nancy married Ephriam S. Allen and moved to Allegan Co., Michigan. Abigail married William H. BURLINGAME 11-25-1852 in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. She died 11-29-1859, possibly as a result of childbirth in Ohio. She left behind a daughter, Chloe E. and a son, Willis. William moved on to Allegan Co., Michigan and remarried. Father(s) of these two women were probably Timothy and/or Erastus Barnes. Nancy's mother was listed as Ruth Taylor and father as Tim Barnes on her death certif., but I am finding only a vague reference to a marriage between Ruth Taylor and Erastus Barnes. I am most interested in Abigails ancestors, but would also like to clear up the question of Nancy's heritage. Any information on the BARNES family from this county would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

MONGER, MUNGER, TOWN posted by Sandra on Friday, April 24, 1998
I am looking for two family names. MUNGER/MONGER and TOWN. Specifically, a marriage and divorce for George Munger/Monger and Fanny Town. George was born 1795 in England and Fanny 1809/10 in New York. Range of dates for the marriage are: 1830-1835. Dates for the divorce are: 1835-1850. I am afraid I do not have any other information about Fanny Town, unless she was buried in that county after 1850. George lived in Ashtabula, County and had eight children...I am thinking three wives...oh yes, the marriage to the third wife..Rosa (Garbey) born in Ireland. That marriage would have been 1835-1850. THANKS!

ALLEN, BARNES, BURLINGAME, EDDY, ROSE, TANNER, VARNEY posted by Beth Bourque on Tuesday, May 5, 1998
Abigail M. BARNES b. 1-9-1827 in Italy, Yates Co., NY, m. 11-25-1852 in Kirtland (which at the time was part of Geauga Co.) to Wm. H. BURLINGAME. d. 11-29-1859, probably in OH, likely after the birth of her second child, Willis. Her first, Chloe E.BURLINGAME was my GGgrandmother. I would like to know where she died and who were her parents? Was Nancy J. BARNES (married to Ephriam S. ALLEN) her sister? her aunt? both Nancy and Ephriam were also born in NY, but I don't know where. The ALLENS and the BURLINGAMES, along with the TANNERS, ROSES, and doubtless others, migrated to Allegan Co., Michigan (Hopkins and Ohio Corners area) where they are listed on the 1870 census, but had probably been there almost ten years. Wm. H.'s second wife was Lucia VARNEY who is listed in this census along with their children. I would also like to know the relationship this branch of the BARNES family had to the EDDY family of Warren Co., PA.
