FULLER, MILLARD, MOORE, SWEET posted by Marilyn Weiner on Sunday, November 1, 1998
Am trying to trace my g-g-g-grandparents, Barzillai MILLARD and Nancy [MOORE] MILLARD who moved to Kirtland, Geauga County, OH, in 1810-11. They owned land there and had 14 children. In about 1832, they moved to Fullertown, Geauga County, OH, but by 1840 they had left there and I haven't been able to find any record of them since. Their children, born between 1812 and 1835, were Jesse (my g-g-grandfather), John B., Cyrus, Erwin (Irving) W., Philena (who may have married a man named FULLER), Irena (who may have married a man named SWEET), Almeron, Rebecca, Edwin, Alvin (who died in a fire), Arminda, Maranda, and Leonard. I would appreciate information that would help me to trace any of them after 1834-35.

HUGHES, HUSE posted by David Hughes on Monday, December 14, 1998
Looking for descendants of IRA HUGHES/HUSE. (I'd love to find information about *his* ancestors as well!) Ira moved to Huntsburg, Ohio from New York, in 1834. Ira Hughes (or Huse) was born on February 22, 1796 in Durham (then Freehold), Greene County (then Ulster County), New York. He married Sally Serrin (b. January 6, 1799, in Greene County, New York; d. September 15, 1863, in Huntsburg, Ohio) on October 13, 1822. Ira Hughes was a cooper by trade, and in 1834 he and his family removed to the West, making the journey by the Erie canal and overland by team. From Buffalo they traveled by the lake to Cleveland, reaching that city in its infancy. In Huntsburg township he bought land, only ten acres being cleared at that time, and the only improvement being a log house. With the aid of his sons he placed the land under cultivation. Ira lived to the age of eighty-two years, departing this life in January, 1878. His headstone in Huntsburg Cemetery reads "Died June 1, 1878 aged 81." Ira and Sally had 13 children; they are: James Huse (died aged 3 mo.) Amos Serrin Hues (died in Windsor, OH in 1898) Israel Ferris Hughes (died in Huntsburg in 1916) Lucy Ann Hughes (married Ira Millett; died in LA, CA in 1919) Hiram Hughes (died in Missouri in 1926) Howard Malcom Hughes (died 1917, West Farmington, Ohio) Edward and Edwin Hughes (died aged 19 days) Joel Tyler Hues (died in Huntsburg in 1855, of typhoid) Ira Lucas Hues (died in the Civil War) Orrin Hues (died aged 2 years) Sarah Jane Hues (died in Huntsbury in 1855, of typhoid) Harrison Tyler Hues (died in the Civil War) I have some information at my website, and more information that I have yet to put there. I am more than happy to share information.
