- BRAZDA, ELDRIDGE, FORBES, KANGAS, KEIL, LAZNA, MALY, PIERCE, VACIK, WACIK posted by John Kangas on Thursday, December 9, 1999
- I am researching my family roots in Geauga, Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula Counties. The Surnames I am researching are Vacik, Wacik, Brazda, Lazna, Maly, Pierce, Keil, Kangas, Eldridge and Forbes. Currently I am working on the Vacik, Wacik, Maly, Brazda and Lazna lines. My Father Edward Vacik was born in Cuyahoga County on 13 June, 1939. He passed away after a motorcycle accident on 15 August, 1971. His parents were his father Peter Vacik, born in Cuyahoga County on 10 May, 1888 and his mother Anna (Maly) Vacik, born in Cuyahoga County on 27 February, 1900. Peter and Anna had four other children, they were. Clarence, Vincent, Peter and Ann. My Grandparents Peter and Anna (Maly) Vacik owned two farms in Munson. These farms were apparently passed down to my grandma Anna from her father Vinzenz Maly. The farms were family owned until the early to middle 1980s. My great-grandfather Vinzenz Maly was born in Bohemia on 26 July, 1862. He immigrated to the USA around December of 1890. He brought with him his wife Catherine (Brazda) Maly also known as Kate. Her birth place an date are unknown. My other great-grandparents were Peter Vacik born in Bohemia on 28 December, 1853. he immigrated to the USA around June or July 1881 with his wife Barbara (Lazna) Vacik also known as Barbora. Her birthplace an date are unknown as well. If anyone has any info that they may be able to share or provide any info on the surnames or persons I have listed please contact me by mail or email. My home address is 5301 Ashby Street Norfolk, VA. 23502. My email address is jroo65@aol.com. I have well over 200 resources available to me for research for gen projects. I am more than willing to share resources and info for free. Lets help each other find our roots!!! Thanks to all!! John R. Kangas
